The wine region of Aude is located in the region of Pays d'Oc of Vin de Pays of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Jeff Carrel or the Domaine Chevalier de Bayard produce mainly wines red, white and pink. This layer of the French appellation system was initially introduced in September 1968 by the INAO, the official appellation authority. It underwent several early revisions in the 1970s, followed by substantial changes in September 2000 and again in 2009, when all existing VDT titles were automatically registered with the European Union as PGI. Aphid that came from America and ravaged European vineyards at the end of the 19th century. It lives on the roots of the vine, from which it pumps the sap. The only vines capable of resisting it had to be imported from the United States, and then grafted onto their root system the wood of traditional French grape varieties.
