Made as aromatic dry wines (Trocken), off-dry (Kabinett, Spätlese) and especially sumptuous botrytised sweet wines (Auslese, Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese). Grown in Germany (Rheinhessen, Palatinate) and Austria. Created in 1916 by Georg Scheu in Alzey, a Riesling × Bukettrebe cross.
