Wines made from Chardonnay grapes of Arcole
Discover the best wines made with Chardonnay as a single variety or as a blend of Arcole.
Whites with many faces: mineral and taut at Chablis (lemon, green apple, flint), opulent and buttery at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (hazelnut, brioche, yellow fruits), tense and chalky in Champagne (Blanc de Blancs). Also vinified sparkling and widely exported (Sonoma, Margaret River, Casablanca). A Burgundian variety, a cross of Pinot Noir × Gouais Blanc, half-sibling of Aligoté.
Venetian DOC (2000) between Verona and Vicenza (Arcole, Cologna Veneta, Lonigo), temperate alluvial plain. Garganega signature (≥50%) as vibrant and floral white king — white flowers, white fruits, sweet almond and elegant mineral-saline touch, sublimated in honeyed late-harvest. Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay as aromatic whites. Merlot, Cabernet and Carmenère as supple reds with red fruits and herbaceous hint.
