Discover the best wines made with Chardonnay as a single variety or as a blend of Veneto Orientale.
Whites with many faces: mineral and taut at Chablis (lemon, green apple, flint), opulent and buttery at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (hazelnut, brioche, yellow fruits), tense and chalky in Champagne (Blanc de Blancs). Also vinified sparkling and widely exported (Sonoma, Margaret River, Casablanca). A Burgundian variety, a cross of Pinot Noir × Gouais Blanc, half-sibling of Aligoté.
IGT of the eastern half of the Venice province, alluvial plain between the Treviso foothills and the Adriatic shaped by the Piave and Livenza rivers, gravelly then sandy-silty soils near the sea. Signature Glera: sparkling and lively with green apple, pear, white flowers and a refreshing note, light bubbles. Fresh Pinot Grigio, full Chardonnay and herbaceous Sauvignon among whites. Supple Merlot, firm Cabernet, dense Refosco and tangy Raboso as varietal reds.
