The wine region of Carmel Valley is located in the region of Monterey County of California of United States. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Bernardus or the Domaine Bernardus produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Carmel Valley are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Pinot noir and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Carmel Valley often reveals types of flavors of non oak, earth or oak and sometimes also flavors of black fruit, spices or red fruit.
In the mouth of Carmel Valley is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 29 estates and châteaux in the of Carmel Valley, producing 127 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Carmel Valley go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or veal.
Clotilde Davenne, from the eponymous estate, mentions the cherry as a main characteristic of the Irancy appellation.
