The wine region of Puente Alto is located in the region of Maipo Valley of Central Valley of Chile. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Almaviva or the Domaine Don Melchor produce mainly wines red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Puente Alto are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet franc and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Puente Alto often reveals types of flavors of blackberry, baking spice or menthol and sometimes also flavors of bramble, sandalwood or tar.
In the mouth of Puente Alto is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 7 estates and châteaux in the of Puente Alto, producing 12 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Puente Alto go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or veal.
