A cross between Landot 4511 and Vitis Riparia 89 (very resistant to cold) obtained in 1978 at the University of Minnesota (United States) and propagated from 1996. This hot, Dry area covers approximately a third of the country and is best known for its red wine, the best of which are sold under the and Alentejo DOC (Denominacao de Origem Controlada) title.
