Structured and elegant reds with a deep ruby robe, firm yet melted tannins and a dense palate with fine acidity, showing signature aromas of red fruits (morello cherry, raspberry), spices, pepper and Alpine mineral notes. DOC in Emilia-Romagna southwest of Imola (Bologna), pre-Apennine clay-limestone hills. Sangiovese is the signature red (≥85% in varietal): full-bodied and fruity with red cherry, plum, violet, herbs and spice, firm tannins and lively acidity; Riserva requires 18 months ageing. Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera add structure. Trebbiano and Chardonnay provide easy-drinking whites.
