Château La Fleur Plaisance is located in the heart of the prestigious Saint-Émilion vineyard, a wine region globally recognized for the exceptional quality of its red wines, located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in the southwest of France. Nestled in a stunning landscape of gentle hills and lush vineyards, this winery is both enticing to the palate and the eyes. It's spread over an estate of about 10 hectares. The soil is particularly conducive to viticulture, consisting primarily of sandy gravel and limestone asterias, deposited millions of years ago during the Miocene, providing the grapes with a unique and distinctive character. Walking through the vineyards, one discovers meticulously well-maintained plots, with vine stocks aged from 30 to 70 years, predominantly featuring Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. This blend gives the red wine of Château La Fleur Plaisance its velvety character, complex flavors of ripe fruit and spices, and a long, elegant finish. The philosophy of Château La Fleur Plaisance is founded on respect for the land, with special attention given to sustainable farming, thus ensuring the integrity of their wines and emphasizing the unique terroir of Saint-Émilion. The fermentation is done traditionally, in temperature-controlled vats, followed by ageing in French oak barrels, which lends finesse and complexity to the wines. The estate also includes a magnificent 19th-century manor house, offering a superb view of the vineyard and surroundings. The beauty of the place, combined with the passion for wine, enhances the attractiveness of this winery.

Discover the grape variety: Cabernet franc

Cabernet Franc is one of the oldest red grape varieties in Bordeaux. The Libourne region is its terroir where it develops best. The terroirs of Saint-Emilion and Fronsac allow it to mature and develop its best range of aromas. It is also the majority in many blends. The very famous Château Cheval Blanc, for example, uses 60% Cabernet Franc. The wines produced with Cabernet Franc are medium in colour with fine tannins and subtle aromas of small red fruits and spices. When blended with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it brings complexity and a bouquet of aromas to the wine. It produces fruity wines that can be drunk quite quickly, but whose great vintages can be kept for a long time. It is an earlier grape variety than Cabernet Sauvignon, which means that it is planted as far north as the Loire Valley. In Anjou, it is also used to make sweet rosé wines. Cabernet Franc is now used in some twenty countries in Europe and throughout the world.
