Discover the grape variety: Nielluccio

Structured and elegant reds with a deep ruby colour, firm tannins and lively acidity, on aromas of cherry, plum, garrigue, Mediterranean herbs (myrtle, rosemary), spices and balsamic notes. Fine ageing potential. The absolute star of Patrimonio AOC on the clay-limestone marls of northern Corsica, a pillar of Ajaccio AOC and the island's reds. The wine region of Morellino di Scansano

Tuscan coastal DOCG in Maremma (Grosseto province), Sangiovese signature (min. 85%, called Morellino) on clay-limestone soils. Signature fruity accessible reds with notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, Mediterranean herbs and spice touch, round tannins and sunny mouth — maritime supple version of Sangiovese, to drink young. Warmer than Chianti thanks to coastal climate.

The wine region of Tuscany

Kingdom of Sangiovese: upright reds with cherry, plum, dried herbs and leather, lively acidity and firm tannins. Fleshy, food-friendly Chianti Classico DOCG, deep long-ageing Brunello di Montalcino (spice, tobacco, ripe black fruit), elegant Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. On the coast, Bolgheri crafts the opulent Cabernet- and Merlot-based 'Super Tuscans'. Some fresh white Vernaccia.

The word of the wine: Passerillage

Concentration of the grape by drying out, under the influence of wind or sun, as opposed to botrytisation, which is the concentration obtained by the development of the "noble rot" for which Botrytis cinerea is responsible. The word is mainly used for sweet wines.
