Umbrian DOC around Lake Trasimeno (Tuscan border), 222 ha on sandy-clay soils. "Gamay del Trasimeno" as the signature red (related to Grenache, brought by Sardinian shepherds in the 19th century): medium-bodied with ripe red fruit, bitter almond, garrigue and a spicy touch, rounded tannins and generous flesh.
