The Clos de l'Oratoire Estate is located in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, France, just a few kilometers south of the city of Bordeaux. Originally a retirement home for priests, this winery was founded in 1961 and has since been run by the same family, currently represented by Jean-Paul Amoreau and Claude Doucet. The farm is known worldwide for its grand cru wines, considered among the best of Saint-Émilion and Bordeaux. The Mediterranean climate and the region's limestone soil are two factors that contribute to creating an ideal environment for the vineyard. The owners cultivate 62 hectares of vineyard, making it one of the largest estates in the region, and they primarily grow Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) grapes, two varietals that make their wines as unique as they are exceptional. All wines produced on the property are made according to ecological farming practices. Using modern methods, the estate strives to produce high-quality wines in balance with their environment.
