Château La Garde is located in the Pessac-Léognan region, just 10 km northeast of Bordeaux, in France. These magnificent vineyards, established on the Graves plateau, benefit from the warm sunshine and humidity of the region to produce exceptional wines. More than 700 years old, this vineyard was founded by a French knight who named the vineyard after the word "garde". The vineyards of Château La Garde are situated on the left bank of the Garonne and on the edge of the Graves Natural Park. Over the years, they have produced wines in the pure Bordeaux style. Gravelly clay soils and sedimentary rocks give the wines of Château La Garde flavors of fresh fruit and minerality. The main grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Each year, they are blended in varying proportions to produce balanced and complex wines. Since its acquisition by Count Laffite in 1948, Château La Garde has been operated by the Laffite family with respect and dedication. This rich tradition continues today, and the estate is considered one of the best terroirs in Pessac-Léognan.
