Highly appreciated for its significant contribution to the American wine industry, the estate was listed in 1944 among the founding members of Napa Valley Vintners. The Charles Krug Estate spans about 850 acres of vineyard land, in the St. Helena region and in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. It owns several certified sustainable vineyards, in which a wide variety of grape varieties are grown, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, to name just a few. The estate is renowned for its quality wines. It was notably the first to offer a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wine in 1944.
