DOC from Liguria on the Riviera di Levante around Portofino, terraced vineyards facing the sea, schist and limestone soils. Vermentino and Bianchetta Genovese are the signature whites (≥60 %): dry and taut with lively notes of citrus, grapefruit, Mediterranean herbs, bitter almond and a salty-iodine mineral finish. Ciliegiolo and Dolcetto make supple, fruity reds. Moscato and Scimiscià add aromatic interest.
