The Doña Paca Bodega is located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra vineyard, one of the most renowned wine regions in Spain. Nestled between the crystal clear waters of the Sil River and the majestic mountains of the Ourensan, the Bodega offers a stunning landscape of natural beauty. The estate, which covers an area of 12 hectares, takes its name from Doña Paca, a woman who devoted a large part of her life to vine cultivation in the region. The vineyards of the Doña Paca Bodega are primarily planted with traditional regional varieties, such as Mencía, Brancellao, and Merenzao for the reds, as well as Godello and Albariño for the whites. The terroir of the Doña Paca Bodega is unique, characterized by schist and granite soils, and a microclimate controlled by the humidity of the Sil River. This allows for the creation of wines with a strong personality, marked by a beautiful tension, a wonderful freshness, and a seductive aromatic complexity. Doña Paca Bodega is renowned for its ancestral production method, respecting traditions while also incorporating modern winemaking techniques. The harvest, for instance, is done by hand to preserve the integrity of the fruits, while vinification takes place in a half-buried cellar, offering optimal temperature and humidity conditions for wine maturation. The estate is strongly committed to respecting the environment and biodiversity, avoiding the use of chemical products in the vineyards and promoting the natural balance of the vineyard. The result is reflected in the quality of the wine produced, which faithfully expresses the unique character of this terrier.
