Supple, fragrant reds with fine tannins and vibrant freshness, showing raspberry, violet, green pepper, pencil lead and gentle spice aromas. Star of the Loire as a single variety (Chinon, Bourgueil, Saumur-Champigny) and of the right bank of Bordeaux in blends (Cheval Blanc at 60%). Also in semi-dry Anjou rosés. A historic Bordeaux variety, parent of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenère.

Victoria's 3rd coolest continental region, north-west of Melbourne on volcanic basalts with marine breezes and deep valleys. Signature Shiraz: medium-full bodied cool-climate profile with vibrant dark fruits, cracked black pepper, spice and black cherry, supple fine tannins, alcohol rarely above 12. 5%. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir as cool-climate whites, poor basaltic loams stressing the vine, small concentrated berries.
