Avancia Estate is an idyllic vineyard located in the region of Valdeorras, Spain. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of North-Western Spain, this impressive estate is known for its unique grape varieties and innovative winemaking techniques. The history of Avancia Estate dates back to the early 2000s, when the Gil Family Estates rediscovered the region of Valdeorras and its almost forgotten traditional grape varieties. They were amazed by the potential of Godello, an indigenous grape variety which they believed was underrated and underutilized. Thus, they were the pioneers in the revival of this grape variety in Spain. On the 30-hectare estate, the vineyards are manually tended with great respect for nature. It is in this extraordinary terroir that Godello and Mencia, two indigenous grape types, thrive. To preserve the integrity of these wines, Avancia uses neither chemicals nor herbicides. Instead, they employ natural techniques to encourage the growth of healthy and robust vines. Low yields, manual harvesting, and precise grape selection are at the heart of Avancia Estate’s philosophy. Every bottle that leaves the estate is a reflection of the meticulous attention and passionate work invested in each vineyard. Among the wines produced at Avancia Estate, the Godello and Mencia particularly stand out. Their Godello displays fascinating complexity, with mineral, floral, and fruity notes creating a balanced and incredibly versatile white wine. On the other hand, their Mencia features a velvety tannic structure, with notes of red fruits, flowers, and spices blending into an enticing red wine.
