The wine region of Colli di Faenza is located in the region of Émilie-Romagne of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Ancarani or the Domaine Trere produce mainly wines red, white and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Colli di Faenza are Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Colli di Faenza often reveals types of flavors of red fruit, earth or microbio and sometimes also flavors of tree fruit, citrus fruit.
In the mouth of Colli di Faenza is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 11 estates and châteaux in the of Colli di Faenza, producing 17 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Colli di Faenza go well with generally quite well with dishes of pasta, shellfish or mature and hard cheese.
By 1965, the vineyards of Condrieu had largely been abandoned – phylloxera and two world wars had decimated the place and its people. There were just 8ha of vines remaining on these granite slopes.
