7. 60 ha Grand Cru at Gevrey-Chambertin (Côte de Nuits), southern extension of Chambertin: 100% Pinot Noir, supple and complex, ages remarkably. Deep ruby, aromas of red and black fruits, liquorice, spices, rose and undergrowth. Gentle slope at 260–280 m, draining marly clay-limestone soils with high stone content.
Particularity: may be labelled Charmes-Chambertin (~90% of production), only 10% retain the name.
