The wine region of Orvietano Rosso

Umbrian DOC (1998, red counterpart to the white Orvieto) in the southwest of Terni, volcanic hills extending to Lazio. Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo (≥70%) — balanced reds with lively notes of cherry, plum, red fruits, violet and a spiced-herbaceous touch, rounded and supple tannins. Aromatic Aleatico as a sweet complement. Broad and elegant Umbrian authenticity.

The wine region of Umbria

"Green heart" of Italy, cradle of Sagrantino: exceptional tannic red in Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, dense and concentrated with notes of blackberry, candied plum, liquorice, spice and leather, powerful tannins and long ageing. Suppler Sangiovese in blends, Cabernet and Merlot in Torgiano DOCG. Orvieto whites based on Grechetto and Trebbiano, full and almondy, from dry to sweet Muffato. ~13,000 ha between Tuscany and Lazio.

The word of the wine: Budding

Phase of the vegetative cycle of the vine corresponding to the bursting of the buds and the appearance of the first leaves.
