The Domaine Castellu di Baricci is a magnificent vineyard located on the beautiful island of Corsica in France. Nestled in the heart of the Gulf of St-Florent, in the iconic coastal region of Nebbio, this wine property embodies French vineyard excellence and refinement perfectly. Spanning an area of 12 hectares, the estate is surrounded by vines that were planted by the current owner's grandfather during the 1930s. The soil is primarily composed of shale, decomposed granite, and limestone. This specific combination gives the wines produced here a unique complexity and richness that distinguishes them remarkably well. The wines produced at Domaine Castellu di Baricci are made from grape varieties typical of the region: Nielluccio, Bianco Gentile, and Vermentino. These are the indigenous grape varieties of Corsica that lend a pure uniqueness to its wines. The production includes three types of wines: the Corse Saint-Florent Red, the Corse Saint-Florent White, and the Corse Saint-Florent Rosé. The Domaine Castellu di Baricci is a spearhead of organic farming in Corsica. Indeed, the vineyard is dedicated to responsible production, highlighting environmentally-friendly methods. As such, the Castellu family's winemakers cultivate their vines with love, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Another unique aspect of this estate is its idyllic setting. Nestled between mountains and ocean, the estate offers breathtaking views. Its proximity to the sea greatly influences the character of the wines, conferring a saline minerality and an undeniable freshness. The Domaine Castellu di Baricci is more than just a vineyard.
