The Maison En Belles Lies is a magnificent winery located in the picturesque region of Côte de Beaune, at the heart of Burgundy, France. The estate is acknowledged for its dedication to eco-friendly and sustainable farming practices, adhering to the principles of biodynamic winemaking. At the core of their beliefs, respect for the soil and for the vines is deeply ingrained. The name of the estate, "En Belles Lies", refers to the traditional Burgundian method of allowing the wine to ferment on its lees, the natural residual deposits from fermentation, to enhance the complexity and depth of the flavors. They have taken this concept further, by reading the soil as an open book, to express its most subtle variations. The estate spans an area of 5 hectares, mainly planted with Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines. The vines, having an average age of 45 years, are carefully cultivated, pruned and hand-harvested to ensure the highest possible quality of fruit. Maison En Belles Lies produces fine and flavorful wines that beautifully reflect the terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Each plot is vinified separately, resulting in a range of distinct, authentic, and expressive wines. The wines have a delicate and complex mouthfeel, with tremendous clarity of flavors. The estate is also known for its impressive cellar, where the aging process takes place naturally, without the use of chemicals or modern technologies. The carefully selected oak barrels provide the wines with subtle nuances of vanilla and toast, perfectly harmonized with the fruity and floral aromas naturally present in the grapes.
