The Château La Mission Haut-Brion is a vineyard located in the Bordeaux Supérieur, in the village called Pessac-Léognan. La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the five famous AOCs of Bordeaux gathered in the Bordeaux Council of Wine Quality, the CBQV. The wines produced and their vineyards spread over an area of 105 hectares. The Château La Mission Haut-Brion is located 15 km west of Bordeaux and is surrounded by 3 churches from the 17th century as well as numerous dungeons, lakes, and coves. The vineyard of La Mission Haut-Brion consists of about 28 ha of vines producing red and white wines, of which about 28% are located on the plateau of La Mission. The lands are characterized by predominantly sandy-clay soils, which is a privileged terroir for the growth of grapes and the production of high-quality wines. La Mission Haut-Brion produces classic red wines that improve with age. The wines are made with a varied range of Bordeaux grape varieties, including cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, and petit verdot.
