The Domaine de la Gaffelière, situated in the magnificent region of Saint-Émilion in France, is a unique place where a love of wine is combined with the heritage of ancestral know-how. Located at the heart of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, this estate spreads across nearly 25 hectares of vineyards, fond of a soil mainly made of clay-limestone and sandy-clay, which brings a subtle complexity to the wines produced. For thirty generations, the Malet Roquefort family has managed the Domaine de la Gaffelière with passion and dedication. They have managed to combine tradition and innovation to produce quality wines recognized around the world. Innovative winemaker, Stéphane Derenoncourt has lent his appreciated modernity to the winemaking, while at the same time respecting the uniqueness of the terroir. The vineyards of the estate are mainly composed of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%), two emblematic varieties of the Bordeaux region. The manual harvesting and the parcel winemaking contribute to obtaining a wine that expresses the character of its terroir. Aging occurs in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, providing the wine with a robust tannic structure and fine longevity.
