The wine region of Ankara
Central Anatolia around the Turkish capital (plateau ~900 m), continental dry climate with strong temperature swings. Kalecik Karasi reigns in red (indigenous variety saved from extinction in the 1960s): supple and juicy with red cherry, raspberry, strawberry and floral touch, round tannins and freshness — the Turkish Pinot Noir in elegance. Denser Bogazkere and Okuzkare (blackberry, plum, spices). Cabernet and Syrah as complement.
The word of the wine: Baco 22A
A white grape variety resulting from the hybridization of the folle blanche and the noah. It is the only hybrid to remain authorized in a French appellation vineyard, that of Armagnac, where it thrives in particular on the tawny sands of Bas-Armagnac. When distilled, its wine produces round, smooth and aromatic eaux-de-vie with hints of ripe fruit.
