Discover the grape variety: Floreal

A wine grape variety of the INRA-Resdur1 series with polygenic resistance (two genes for mildew and powdery mildew have been identified), resulting from an interspecific cross between Villaris and Mtp 3159-2-12 (for the latter, one of its parents is Vitis rotundifolia, which is resistant to Pierce's disease, mildew, grey rot, etc.). The wine region of Crémant de Loire

Crémant de Loire is the regional appellation for Sparkling wines from Anjou, Saumur and Touraine - the heart of France's Loire Valley wine region. Chenin Blanc is the main ingredient. A wide range of other traditional Loire grape varieties can be used. These include the obvious choices of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but also Cabernet Franc, Pineau d'Aunis, Grolleau Noir and even Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine region of Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is a key wine region in western France. It follows the course of the Loire River on its Long journey through the heart of France, from the inland hills of the Auvergne to the plains of the French Atlantic coast near Nantes (Muscadet country). Important in terms of quantity and quality, the region produces large quantities (about 4 million h/l each year) of everyday wines, as well as some of France's greatest wines. Diversity is another of the region's major assets; the styles of wine produced here range from the light, tangy Muscadet to the Sweet, honeyed Bonnezeaux, the Sparkling whites of Vouvray and the juicy, Tannic reds of Chinon and Saumur.

The word of the wine: Ban des vendanges

Date of the beginning of the grape harvest, fixed by the lord in the tradition of the Middle Ages and, today, by the prefect.
