The wine region of Ahr

Ahr is one of Germany’s least-known and Northernmost wine regions, known for its Pinot Noir reds. It Lies immediately north of the Mosel, and follows the Ahr River in the Final stages of its journey towards its confluence with the Rhein. One might expect a wine region this far north (50°N) to specialize in white wines – like almost every other cool-Climate wine region. After all, neighboring Mosel and Mittelrhein both clearly favor white wines (around 85 percent).

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2021: report and top-scoring wines

Châteauneuf-du-Pape wasn’t hit as hard as some appellations, thanks in part to its proximity to the Rhône river, and its openness to the mistral wind. Nevertheless, volumes are down by around 20%. The word of the wine: Fees

This wine is characterized by a pleasant nervousness and an overall sensation of freshness on the palate, reinforced by minerality, a note of bitterness, a hint of CO2, and of course an appropriate serving temperature.
