The Domaine Rollin Père et Fils is a significant vineyard in the Côte de Beaune region of France. It's one of the most prestigious and oldest winemakers in the area, having started producing wine since the beginning of the 19th century. Today, it is managed by Philippe Rollin, the current owner and a descendant of the family that founded the estate. The Domaine Rollin Père et Fils is situated on the Southeast hills of Nuits-Saint-Georges village. The family owns several smaller vineyards which are separated by the rivers and surrounding villages. The estate benefits from ideal weather conditions, and the vineyard receives maximum sunlight for each grape variety cultivated on the domain. The annual production is around 15,000 bottles, each crafted with meticulous attention to quality. Most of the wines are Premiers Crus and Grands Crus, but the estate also produces village wines. The house puts its talents to contribute to the most authentic production at every step: from the vineyard to the bottling. The pruning and harvesting, are performed by hand and every batch receives a perfect blend. The vintages are chosen with great care from the best sources, and the grapes ferment slowly in French oak barrels at least three years old. Before bottling, all wines are tasted and adjusted if necessary. The vineyard offers a selection of red, white, and rosé wines, as well as special vintages. Each wine has its own story, and every year, it will provide unique experiences. The Domaine Rollin Père et Fils is a result of the hard work of a dynamic and passionate family, where each wine reflects the unique character of the Côte de Beaune.

Discovering the wine region of Côte de Beaune

The Côte de Burgundy/cote-de-beaune/beaune">Beaune is a key wine region in Burgundy, eastern France. It owes its name to its main town, Beaune - the epicentre of local wine production and trade. Renowned for producing some of the world's most expensive white wines (most of which bear the name Montrachet in one form or another), the region also produces a handful of Burgundy's finest red wines, including those from the premier crus Pommard and grand cru Corton. As with most Burgundy wines, the white wines are made from Hardonnay">Chardonnay, the reds from Pinot Noir.

The Côte de Beaune is a narrow strip of land less than 5 kilometers wide, extending 25 kilometers to the northeast. The main Vineyard of the Côte de Beaune is almost exactly the same Size and shape as its northern counterpart, the Côte de Nuits. Together, these two regions form the Côte d'Or, a region named after the Côte d'Or and characterized by the Côte d'Or limestone escarpment that forms its backbone. The importance of this escarpment to Côte de Beaune viticulture is hard to underestimate; not only does it protect the vineyards from the prevailing westerly winds, but it also provides gently sloping, free-draining vineyard sites with near-perfect South and southeast aspects.
