This is a very old grape variety in southwestern France, with "traces" found in the high Pyrenees, but also in the Atlantic Pyrenees and in the Gers. Virtually unknown in other French wine-producing regions, as well as abroad, it is registered in the Official Catalogue of Wine Grape Varieties, list A1. Tardif is certainly the ideal grape variety to combine with Tannat, especially when the latter is in the majority. The wine region of Victoria
Victoria is a relatively small but important Australian wine state. Located in the Southeastern corner of the continent, with a generally cool, ocean-influenced Climate, Victorian wine is remarkably diverse, producing all sorts of wines and styles in different climates. The duration of this maturation is very important: in contact with the dead yeasts, the wine takes on subtle aromas and gains in roundness and fatness. A brut without year must remain at least 15 months in the cellar after bottling, a vintage 36 months.
