The wine region of Sonora
Pioneer wine region of north-west Mexico on the Gulf of California, extreme arid climate softened by sea breezes. Cabernet Sauvignon is the signature red — powerful and solar with intense blackcurrant, black cherry, ripe plum, dark chocolate and warm spiced-balsamic notes, round tannins and a dense palate. Syrah, Grenache, Carignane and Touriga Nacional in Mediterranean-style reds. Opulent Chardonnay and aromatic Verdejo in whites.
