The Berthelemot Estate was founded in the mid-19th century by the Berthelemot family, who specialized in wine production in the heights of the Côte de Beaune region, at the heart of the famous hills of the Côtes d’Auxerre and Chablisien vineyards. For several generations, the Berthelemots have passed down their winemaking and vine-growing techniques, prioritizing quality and excellence. Located in Saint-Romain, at an average altitude of 230 meters, the Estate is built upon a terroir that boasts rich soils and a particularly sandy composition. The vines, which cover approximately 15 hectares, are those characteristic of the region, including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for the production of great white wines, and Gamay for the reds. They are cultivated in accordance with reasoned and organic farming methods, which gives their wines an exceptional purity and freshness. The Estate produces a wide variety of wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and liqueur wines. The red wines are carefully vinified: after a maceration period between 15 and 30 days, the wines are aged in French oak barrels for about 18 to 20 months. For the white wines, the musts are fermented at low temperature, and the wines are then aged on fine lees for 18 months. The Berthelemot Estate is recognized for its indisputable quality and the prices of their wines are very competitive, without compromising their distinguished and refined taste. The Estate offers a complete experience to its admirers with guided tours of its cellars, tastings, and even wine and cooking classes. The delicious wines of this Estate make it a must-visit destination for all wine enthusiasts and professionals.
