The wine region of Plettenberg Bay is located in the region of Cape South Coast of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Newstead or the Domaine Bramon produce mainly wines white, red and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Plettenberg Bay are Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinotage, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Plettenberg Bay often reveals types of flavors of microbio, vegetal or oak and sometimes also flavors of tree fruit, citrus fruit or tropical fruit.
In the mouth of Plettenberg Bay is a with a nice freshness. We currently count 6 estates and châteaux in the of Plettenberg Bay, producing 23 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Plettenberg Bay go well with generally quite well with dishes of shellfish, vegetarian or goat cheese.
