The wine region of Soave Classico is located in the region of Soave of Vénétie of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Prà or the Domaine Pieropan produce mainly wines white, red and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Soave Classico are Garganega, Chardonnay and Mourvèdre, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Soave Classico often reveals types of flavors of citrus, black fruit or yellow plum and sometimes also flavors of honeydew melon, lanolin or green pear.
In the mouth of Soave Classico is a with a nice freshness. We currently count 133 estates and châteaux in the of Soave Classico, producing 208 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Soave Classico go well with generally quite well with dishes of shellfish, vegetarian or appetizers and snacks.
Very old vine cultivated in Italy, in Sicily it would carry the name of grecanico dorato and in Spain would be the malvasia mauresa... . It can be found in the United States, but in France it is almost unknown. It should be noted that its bunches resemble somewhat those of the ugni blanc or trebbiano toscano and it would be related to the verdicchio blanco.
