The wine region of Lirac is located in the region of Rhône méridional of Rhone Valley of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Rocca Maura or the Domaine L'Anglore - Eric Pfifferling produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Lirac are Mourvèdre, Clairette and Roussanne, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Lirac often reveals types of flavors of cream, chalk or apricot and sometimes also flavors of peach, tropical or grapefruit.
In the mouth of Lirac is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 144 estates and châteaux in the of Lirac, producing 321 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Lirac go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or game (deer, venison).
Ugni blanc is a grape variety originating from Italy. It produces a variety of grape specially used for the elaboration of wine. It is rare to find this grape to eat on our tables. This variety of grape is characterized by large bunches and small to medium sized grapes. Ugni blanc can be found in many vineyards: South West, Cognac, Bordeaux, Provence & Corsica, Rhone valley, Languedoc & Roussillon, Armagnac, Loire valley, Savoie & Bugey, Beaujolais.
