The Valenciso Winery is a renowned wine company located in the region of La Rioja, in northern Spain, and is known for its exceptional red wine vintages. Established in 1998 by Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso, the estate draws its name from a combination of the founders' last names. The winery is focused on producing single-varietal wines, primarily made from the Tempranillo grape, emblematic of the region. The Valenciso Estate is recognized for its limited production, prioritizing quality over quantity, and produces only 100,000 bottles annually. This choice enables them to concentrate fully on each stage of the winemaking process, to ensure consistent flavours with incomparable elegance. Respecting the environment is a priority for the Valenciso Estate, which is certified in sustainable agriculture. The 80 hectares of the estate are cultivated with minimal human intervention and by promoting natural biodiversity, where the little barn owl plays a leading role. The wines from Valenciso Estate are recognized for their finesse, freshness, and aging potential. Their flagship wine, the Valenciso Reserva, is a well-balanced wine with aromas of cherries, cocoa, coffee, and a hint of well-integrated oak. It has a delightful length on the palate with a refreshing finish. This wine reaches maturity after 17 months in Baltic oak barrels and benefits from additional aging in the bottle before being put up for sale. The estate also has its own cellar, where temperature, humidity, and light conditions are controlled to ensure optimal maturation.
