The wine region of Mantinia

High-altitude Peloponnesian PDO in Arcadia (600–800 m, cool continental, draining sandy clay soils, marked diurnal range). Moschofilero exclusive flagship white-rosé-skin (≥85%): floral and spiced fragrances recalling Gewurztraminer and Muscat, rose, orange blossom, citrus and herbal notes, lively preserved acidity, moderate alcohol, elegant balance. Traditional-method and tank sparkling versions. PDO 1971, among Greece's coolest.

The wine region of Peloponnesos

Southern Greece, the country's 2nd region by volume, high-altitude vineyards (200-900 m). Signature Agiorgitiko at Nemea ("Hercules' Blood"): deep ruby reds with signature notes of black cherry, plum, blackberry, sweet spices and a balsamic touch, supple tannins and a velvety palate — fleshy and accessible. At Mantinia (600 m), pink-skinned Moschofilero gives aromatic whites (rose, citrus, white flowers). Sweet fortified Mavrodaphne, fresh Roditis.

The word of the wine: Aging

Period during which a wine is kept in a cellar where it goes through different phases of evolution of its aromatic range and a maturation of its constituents (evolution of the colour, refining of the tannins, harmonization of the different flavours, etc.). The wine evolves better and less quickly in large containers, whereas it deteriorates prematurely in half-bottles.
