The wine region of Biferno
Molise DOC on the high plateaus descending towards the Adriatic along the Biferno river. Montepulciano is the signature red (70–80%) blended with Aglianico (10–20%): deep ruby and velvety with ripe red and black fruits, leather, liquorice and a hint of spice, firm tannins and a generous body. Powerful and complex Riserva (3 years ageing). Trebbiano Toscano (65–70%) as the signature white blended with fresh Bombino Bianco, with citrus, flowers and an almond hint.
The wine region of Molise
Second smallest region of Italy between Abruzzo and Apulia on the Adriatic. Signature Tintilia as red king (native saved in the 1990s): dense and deep with notes of black mulberry, candied cherry, plum, garrigue, leather and spices, firm tannins and fleshy palate — the rediscovered pride of Molise. Supple Montepulciano (cherry, plum, liquorice), firm and structured Aglianico. Lively Trebbiano whites (citrus, flowers).
The word of the wine: Clairet
Strong rosé wine reminiscent of a light red.
