Excels in sweet and botrytised dessert wines (Auslese, BA, TBA). Grown in Franconia and the Palatinate, it yields some of Germany's greatest dessert wines. Indigenous trilogy: signature Xarel-lo (body, herbaceous and almondy notes), Macabeo (apple, freshness), Parellada (floral elegance).
