Chateau Magence is both a family farm and a wine estate located in the French wine region of Graves, 35 kilometers southwest of Bordeaux. For over 300 years, this estate has specialized in the production of fine wines, rich in flavors and of high quality. The Chateau stands on the right bank of the Garonne River, with a rich terroir, consisting of deep and dusty gravel, enriched with minerals, limestone and sand. The soils are classified AOC, which means they are certified to produce wines of exceptional quality. The estate consists of nearly 70 hectares of vineyards mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Graves is a wine region on the left bank of the Bordeaux region of France, characterized by the gravel soils that give it its name. Unique among the sub-regions of Bordeaux, Graves is equally respected for its red and white wines. The AOC Graves, which covers both red and white wines, is the catch-all appellation of the district. Cabernet Franc is one of the oldest red grape varieties in Bordeaux. The Libourne region is its terroir where it develops best.
