Fine ageing potential, developing waxy and truffle nuances with age. Key variety in the great whites of the northern Rhône (Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Péray) blended with roussanne. Also exported to Australia (Victoria) and California.
