The wine region of Sierre
The wine region of Sierre is located in the region of Valais of Switzerland. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Adrian et Diego Mathier or the Domaine Claudy Clavien produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Sierre are Pinot noir, Gamay noir and Chasselas, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Sierre often reveals types of flavors of black fruit, grapefruit or non oak and sometimes also flavors of oak, citrus fruit or citrus.
The wine region of Valais
The Valais is the largest wine region and appellation in Switzerland, responsible for around one third of the country's total wine production. The main Vineyard area covers the southeast-facing slopes of the dramatic Rhône river valley as the glacial waters run southwest between Leuk (Loeche in French) and Fully. The river changes direction at Martigny and then runs northwest to exit the valley and empty into Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). The word of the wine: Tartar (deposit)
White, chalky deposits that occur as a result of precipitation inside bottles and are often considered by consumers as a defect. They are in fact tartaric salts formed by tartaric acid, potassium and calcium naturally present in the wine. This deposit does not alter the quality of the wine and can be eliminated by a simple decanting.
