Solano County AVA east of Napa (1982, 29 grapes): Petite Sirah signature red king — dense, structured and inky reds with concentrated black fruit and firm tannins. Also round Merlot and ripe Cabernet Sauvignon on western slopes, spicy Zinfandel and Grenache. Albariño, Verdelho and Vermentino as aromatic whites. Coast Range to the west and Suisun Bay breezes temper Central Valley heat.
