Supple, fruity reds with a deep purple robe, smooth tannins and moderate acidity, showing aromas of red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry, plum), sweet spices and floral notes. Round, approachable young, easy-drinking wines. Star of Côtes du Marmandais AOC, identity pillar of the appellation alongside cabernet and merlot, also present in Buzet AOC and Fronton AOC. Autochthonous South-West variety from Lot-et-Garonne, rediscovered in the 19th century.

The wine region of Haute Vallee de l'Orb
IGP in the north-west of the Hérault within the Parc du Haut Languedoc (32 communes from Prémian to Avène, 200–650 m altitude, soils of schist, gneiss, granite, basalt and moraines, temperate Mediterranean-Atlantic climate). Syrah, Merlot and Grenache lead in red blends (Syrah 50%): more taut and aromatic than Languedoc plain wines, fresh fruit and preserved freshness. Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon give aromatic fresh whites—cool nights preserve acidity.
The wine region of Pays d'Oc
The single-grape IGP par excellence: modern, accessible, frank and fruity wines, the popular signature of the Midi. Spicy Syrah reds (pepper, blackberry), round Merlot, structured Cabernet, generous Grenache, supple Cinsault. Crisp, tangy rosés. Opulent Chardonnay whites, lively Sauvignon, floral, apricoty Viognier.
The word of the wine: Silky
Said of a caressing wine with extremely fine tannins.
