The Château Faugères is a winemaking estate located in the heart of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in France. Since its inception in 1725, the vineyard covers an area of 26 hectares and produces a vast variety of red, white, and rosé wines. In 1971, the Claret family settled at Château Faugères and began replanting and modernising the vineyard to be able to make the most of its extraordinary terroir. Their mission was to turn the estate into a productive and prosperous business capable of producing exceptional crus. Château Faugères has a variety of contrasting soils and aspects, with part of it located on the plateau of Saint-Émilion. The soils comprise of pebbles from the Dordogne and Gironde, and a mixture of marl, sediment, and gravel. The vineyard is exposed to the sun and benefits from fresh winds that enhance the maturation of grapes and give them a unique and exceptional character. Château Faugères produces four premium wines: the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé red, the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé white, the Faugères red, and the Faugères white. All these wines are composed of classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet-Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds, and Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the whites. The wines of Château Faugères are known for their intensity and balance, and are characterised by a remarkable aromatic expression and a beautiful texture.
