The wine region of Barossa
Barossa is one of the six wine-producing zones of SouthAustralia, and arguably the most recognized name in the Australian wine industry. Barossa wines have attracted more international awards than any other region in the country. The tannins of the seed or stalk, which are "greener", especially in average years, give the wine hardness and astringency. The wines of Bordeaux (based on Cabernet and Merlot) are full of tannins, those of Burgundy much less so, with Pinot Noir containing little.
