Communal appellation of Coteaux du Layon (Anjou-Layon) on Faye-d'Anjou: 100% Chenin as sweet wine from successive manual passes on overripe grapes. Golden colour, nose of candied apricot, quince, honey, bitter orange, yellow peach and saffron notes. Rich, full and silky palate supported by a taut acidity bringing brightness and balance. Well-exposed south-east slopes on schists, quartz and Armorican sandstone of the Anjou Noir — warm draining terroir favouring regular botrytisation of Chenin.
