Made as dry (Trocken, Alsace), off-dry (Kabinett, Spätlese) and sweet (Auslese, Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese, late harvest). Star of the Moselle, Rheingau, Alsace AOC and Wachau. Vaud AOC between Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchatel, clay-limestone soils, ~180 ha — reputedly the oldest wine region in Switzerland (Roman introduction). Atypically red-dominant in Vaud (75%). Pinot Noir reigns: airy and silky with red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, undergrowth and spiced touch, fine tannins. Round and juicy Gamay as complement.
