A direct producer hybrid obtained by Georges Couderc by crossing Vitis Lincecumii (Buckley) with 162-5 Couderc, the latter having 3/4 blood of Vinifera-Rupestris. Today, like most hybrids, it has practically disappeared. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Soave are Garganega, Chardonnay and Pinot blanc, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. The wine region of Veneto

Veneto is an important and growing wine region in northeastern Italy. Veneto is administratively Part of the Triveneto area, aLong with its smaller neighbors, Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In terms of geography, culture and wine styles, it represents a transition from the Alpine and Germanic-Slavic end of Italy to the warmer, drier, more Roman lands to the South. Veneto is slightly smaller than the other major Italian wine regions - Piedmont, Tuscany, Lombardy, Puglia and Sicily - but it produces more wine than any of them.

The word of the wine: Botrytis cinerea

This fungus, also called noble rot, develops during the over-ripening phase and is an ally of great sweet white wines, when it concentrates the juice of the berries. It requires the humidity of morning fogs and beautiful sunny days, gives musts very rich in sugar and brings to the wines the famous taste of "roasted".
