The Clos du Jaugueyron Estate is located in the heart of the Médoc, a renowned wine region of Bordeaux, in France. The property was founded in 1753 by a wealthy Bordeaux merchant, Simon de Montault, and spans roughly 38 hectares of vineyards planted with cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. One of the peculiarities of the Clos du Jaugueyron Estate is the use of an ancestral method aimed at producing first-growth wines. Thus, at harvest time, the grapes are selected and hand-sorted to discard those that do not meet their requirements. Once the grapes have arrived at the cellar, they are vinified by traditional vat or by barrel, depending on the type of wine they wish to obtain. The estate produces reds, whites, rosés and even sparkling wines. The reds are vinified according to the traditional methods of vat grapes. The fruit notes are aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and strawberry, scents of leather and cedar, with a slightly smoky oak finish. The sweet spice notes of the white and rosé wines mingle with floral scents and hints of lemon, apple and pear, with a slightly mineral finish. The Clos du Jaugueyron Estate offers several events throughout the year, including tastings, culinary workshops, cellar tours and regular guests with cellar masters to represent their know-how. The estate's wines are also available for purchase, while the staff is always available to provide additional information and advice.

Bordeaux's Médoc is an area of coastal lagoons, sand dunes and pine forests located on the 45th parallel. It is also a global wine powerhouse, and home to four of the world's most prestigious wine villages: Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Estèphe and Saint-Julien. The estates located in these villages produce some of the most expensive bottles in the world. The region has also provided all but one of the châteaux included in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification (Haut-Brion).

The Médoc vineyards cover about 16,000 hectares, including the various small appellations. Approximately 5500 hectares of vines are classified for the production of AOC/AOP Médoc wines. Wedged between the Atlantic coast and the wide Gironde estuary, the Médoc is in fact a peninsula.
